Today we are talking about how to get healthier, have more vitality and feel happier at home and at work and this is part 3 of the presentations, the final part of this presentation. Today we are going to be talking about being consistent and being seriously committed to achieving your goals.
Right back at the start we talked about getting clarity on what it is you wanted to achieve but also thinking a little more in depth and trying to visualise about the person that you want to be, what they would look like, how they would feel, where they would hang out, who they would hang out with, what their lifestyle would be like etc. So related to your goals think about visualising how that person would look and feel and start to get excited about achieving your goals and being that person.
In part 2 we talked about taking the appropriate actions to achieve the goals you had just visualised and being that person that you want to be. I asked you to write down a list of recent actions that you had taken and have a think about whether they were appropriate for that person that you wanted to be. We discussed about being the person that you wanted to be and doing the things that they would do and then as a result you would be rewarded the success that that person would have rather than having the success first then doing the things that person would do and then being that person it has to be the other way round or you will never achieve your goals.
Part three today is as I said, being consistent and also being seriously committed. In order to achieve the goals that you want to achieve you do need to get seriously committed and that person will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. If you are excited about the goals you are more likely to achieve them. Keep in mind the visualisation of that person; how they would feel, what they would look like, what clothes they will be wearing, where they would be hanging out etc. All of those things, really try and keep a tight grip on that visualisation. It might be helpful to go on the internet or find pictures of either yourself, if it is something you want to do again if say you once were a 10k runner or you once were a couple of stone lighter, you might want to take some pictures from your Facebook perhaps or from a photo album and stick them all around your house so that you have a visualisation of the person that you want to be. Or it could be someone else, you could have someone that you look up to, someone that inspires you. It could be a celebrity, someone at work, it could be a member of your family, someone that inspires you and you can visualise them and you being that person and think about how they would feel.
You might want to write it down, something that I do is my ideal perfect day. Do it as the person that you want to be and the lifestyle that person would have and the actions they would take then start to follow that idea perfect day. If your ideal perfect day for the person that you want to be is to wake up at 6am and do an exercise session, then as soon as you write that down you can start doing that, that is your plan of action. Once you know that that person would do and the actions that would take you can start being that persona and having the results that that person would have. It’s about doing that consistently as well, being committed, a no excuses approach, just doing whatever it takes to achieve those goals and doing that day in and day out. So you may be doing it some of the time but not all of the time and if that is the case you will probably achieve some of your result but not others or you will achieve part of your results and not the full amount. So you need to do it pretty much 100% of the time all of the time in order to achieve your goals. It is an effort to start off with but that is the way that it is and once you get there it will be much easier to maintain it now that you know what you know from these presentation that we have gone through. It does require a little bit of effort, time, money, energy and effort into achieving your goals but you will get there when you give 100% effort consistently and you do whatever it takes to achier your goals.
