Following on on from last week’s blog about exercising indoors, I’ve put together a workout that you can do at home if the weather is bad, you haven’t got time to go to the gym or you just fancy a change.
The workout is suitable for beginner level upwards and will help with fitness, calorie burning & toning. You don’t need any equipment but I’ve offered some suggestions in brackets for adding weights and how you can make the workout more challenging!
Here you go!…
Warm up: 3 minute walk or jog on the spot (or up & down stairs)
Circuit: 30 seconds each exercise
with 30 seconds of walking/jogging on the spot (or burpees)
1) squats (add a shoulder press with weights)
2) side lunges (add bicep curls with dumbells)
3) press ups (full – hands & toes)
4) abdominal crunches (half sit ups)
5) core twist (lift your feet up & use a weight)
Repeat circuit 3-5 times
Cool down: Quad & hamstring stretches
Give it go and don’t forget to get in touch if you need any extra advice, support or motivation from me.
I currently have 2 spaces for Home Personal Training if you need an extra push this winter too!
Note: This advice is suitable for beginner level upwards, but please consult your GP or physiotherapist if you are unsure about any potential contraindications.
