- Think about what it is you really want to achieve e.g. lose weight or get fit
- Quantify your goal e.g. 2 stone weight loss or Half Marathon fitness
- Ask yourself when will you realistically achieve your goal by? e.g. Birthday, holiday or perhaps enter a race
- Write your goal down in the following way “I am so happy and grateful that it is 1st June 2014 and I am now a size 12” or “I am so happy and grateful that it is 26th March 2014 and I have completed my first Half Marathon”
- Visualise what you will look like and how you will feel when you achieve it e.g. happy, confident, super fit
- Write down 20 ways you will benefit from achieving your goal.
- Write down 20 more ways other people around you will benefit from you achieving your goal e.g. your kids will benefit because you’ll be able to run around in the park, friends will benefit because you’ll socialise more
- Then tell people about your goal so you are accountable to them. Try to select positive people who will support you
Next you’ll need a plan of action for achieving your goals (I can help with that!) and you’ll need to put lots of hard work in to achieve your goals – sorry I haven’t got a magic button! And after 4-6 weeks you’ll want to re-evaluate and celebrate your achievements before setting new goals and starting the process again.
Would you like to know my top 3 goals for 2014? Some are personal and some are business related, but I’m happy to share so I am accountable to you all!
- Lose 1/2 stone by 31st January
- Move to London by 1st February
- Launch my own Children’s Fitness product by 1st November
There’s no luck involved in achieving your goals so instead work hard and keep me updated on your progress!
Next week I’ll talk about setting a plan of action for achieving your goals.
Becky 🙂
