Kris’ Personal Training Success Story – “I have stuck with a class and really noticed the difference in my fitness and energy levels!” “I decided to approach onesixeight: fitness as, although I was losing weight through a slimming group, my fitness wasn’t good (I think pretty awful sums it up!). I also needed to strengthen my knee following an injury and the quote from the surgeon being “get it strong yourself or face surgery”! I had tried gym classes before but they never fitted timewise with my work and childcare commitments – I always managed to find an excuse not to go. Being honest I also found them quite intimidating – I am definitely not a fan of exercising in larger groups! Working with Becky has given me the motivation to stick at the classes – they fit with my schedule and the small group size is brilliant. Becky makes everyone feel supported. The support isn’t just around the exercise – there is support around nutrition and staying motivated too. I have really noticed my energy levels increase and I have also managed to avoid knee surgery so far – and I am getting closer to my target weight. “Before I started training with onesixeight: fitness, I was feeling a little overweight, unfit and not very motivated. I tried going to the gym but didn’t enjoy it – I needed somebody to give me that push. This is when I turned to Becky for help.
Each day I look forward to going to onesixeight. It gives me lots of motivation, I feel great after a good workout and look forward to the next day. I am also able to do exercises that I could not do before.

“Before I joined onesixeight, I wasn’t very happy with my appearance and felt the need to exercise more. I knew that signing up to a gym wouldn’t make me any more motivated towards exercising regularly and that I needed to make some kind of commitment in order to strive for a healthier lifestyle. I didn’t have any reservations about coming back to onesixeight fitness, and if anything, the small group sessions gave me more incentive to join – it’s a really wonderful, tight-knit support network.
Working with Becky has been brilliant, if motivation is what you lack, Becky is there to provide it for you! PT sessions are now embedded into my routine – no more excuses! I started out with a target of 5 sessions a week (which I initially thought was crazy), but now I aim for 7-10 a week and always look forward to them.
Following a 1-2-1 session I had with Becky on positive thinking, every morning when I get up, I look in the mirror and tell myself I’ve reached my goal weight. As strange as that may sound, I instantly feel fantastic and rarely find myself having a ‘bad day’. Diane has been training with onesixeight: fitness for over a year and is pleased with her most recent success during her Christmas challenge. Since attending the October workshop, Diane has been setting herself weekly objectives to challenge herself. Her weight loss goal was to lose ½ pound each week in the lead up to Christmas and she has successfully achieved this goal – even whilst enjoying her Christmas parties!
Diane’s fitness target was to do 20 sessions over 10 weeks, and even after increasing her target to 30 sessions, Diane has still already achieved this goal too. Doing the extra PT session each week has helped Diane’s weight loss and fitness gains and she is now feeling fitter than ever. Diane is more flexible in her upper back and really feels like she is going to have the guilt-free Christmas that she deserves.

At my first meeting with Becky she explained that there were small group sessions for half an hour each session. I had always had one hour sessions at the gym and couldn’t believe that anything much would be achieved in half an hour. I was wrong!! Because the sessions are intense and there is a personal trainer standing in front of you making sure you are doing the exercises correctly it is much more effective than going to the gym and takes up less time. Becky is a very bubbly person and we always have a good laugh in the sessions. It is great fun and something to look forward to rather than a chore that going to the gym has always been for me in the past. I found results after only attending for a week. I have always been slim but was finding that my middle was becoming bigger than I was happy with. That has now been noticeably improved. I also notice that my balance is remarkably better now than when I started.”

Having lost about a stone since Jan through changing my eating habits and working out on my own at home, I needed something to keep me motivated to exercise. I was getting bored of doing things at home and didn’t feel I was challenging myself enough. I knew it was important to keep up the exercise to maintain my weight loss.
Helen’s Personal Training Success Story – “I can now fit in my favourite red dress again!”
Initially I wasn’t sure about signing up for the PT sessions. I was worried about the cost and about exercising as part of a group. My only previous experience of this was PE at school and it’s fair to say I hated every minute of it! Still, I needn’t have worried. Becky, Liam, Jake and all the other members of team onesixeight make exercising a pleasure. Everyone is so friendly and encouraging and they really do create an atmosphere where I can stop feeling self-conscious and just get on with challenging & improving myself. The cost isn’t an issue at all now that I’ve got started and realize how much good the training is doing me. Previously I wouldn’t think twice about spending lots of money on a night out which would leave me feeling hungover so it actually feels good to be prioritizing my health and well-being. I’m only four weeks into my onesixeight experience but I already feel stronger, fitter and more positive. I’m mastering exercises that I really struggled with few weeks ago. I can now do a minute of v-sits, an exercise I dreaded at the start. And I tried my vintage red dress on yesterday. And it fits again!”

“Before I joined onesixeight: fitness, I was overweight, unfit and unhappy! I decided I needed to do something to change my way of life and I needed more than just a generic gym membership. I needed the support, guidance and encouragement from someone. Initially, I was worried that I would find everything too hard after almost a year out of exercise following an injury and that my foot wouldn’t cope with what would be thrown at me, but I was wrong. Everything was changed and adapted to suit my needs and I can now do things that I said I would never be able to do. Also, I didn’t think I’d have the time to commit but flexibility from both sides has allowed me to exercise at least an hour 5 days a week. I have loved every minute of training at onesixeight: fitness. Sessions are varied, challenging and most of all fun. I look forward to my sessions and find it very odd if I have to go a day without them. I don’t find myself making excuses not to go, because I love it so much. I have achieved so much because I am encouraged to believe in myself and now tell myself I can do it instead of I can’t do it! My biggest achievement since training with onesixeight: fitness is changing not only my lifestyle but also my mindset! I am a much more positive person and have a lot more confidence in myself and my ability. Tracey’s Personal Training Success Story
Since going back to work full time I haven’t really had time for well, pretty much absolutely everything else and I really was starting to miss the exercise part of my life. What I needed was someone at home to force me to do the things I would of done in the gym or at a class. Then I came across onesixeight: fitness – an online workout for the time poor, concentrating on parts of your body you want to improve on.
As I didn’t have a lot of spare time it was important that I got maximum results in a short amount of time. In just 4 weeks I lost 8lbs, 2 inches from my waist, 1.5 inches from my chest, 1 inches from my biceps, 2 inches from my hips (a whopping 6.5 inches in total!). I can now fit into my size 18 work shirt comfortably, I am wearing my size 14 work trousers and I feel so much better now I have some exercise back in my life.

“I had two operations in a year which had left me inactive for 8 weeks at a time and I wanted to kickstart my fitness again and was struggling to do that on my own at the gym. I wasn’t sure that I would enjoy online personal training and didn’t think I’d get the benefit, but once I got started I found it really beneficial as even though I haven’t had sessions for over a year I still have some ingrained activity that I do.
My gym sessions are better as I am using equipment and doing exercises that do have an impact and my eating habits are alot better following the advice and application of a new diet approach.
I am also able to run 6 miles non stop which is great because I always said I wasn’t a runner!”

Amanda’s Personal Training Success Story
Amanda has seen fantastic results over the past few weeks and only yesterday completed the Birmingham Half Marathon in 1hr 57 minutes! “Before I started working with onesixeight: fitness I was hitting the wall at 6 miles whilst running & was also unhappy with the shape I was in. I knew I had the motivation to do something about it but needed someone to push me further. I came to Becky as I admired the fact that she was the 1st lady to finish the first Loughborough Half Marathon in 2012. My only reservation was that I had never worked with someone in a one to one situation before, but the process of working with Becky has been fun. Every session is different and ensures that I am pushed to my limits each workout. I love the monthly challenges as it gives me something new to aim for regularly. I look forward to each session & if time would allow it I would come to more! My best result so far is getting past my 6 mile running block with ease. I am now finishing longer runs with the feeling I could do more & also being able to pick up my speed towards the end of a run. I am loving every run as I feel fitter & much stronger. Lesley’s Personal Training Success Story
Lesley has been training with onesixeight: fitness for 18 months and in that time has improved her stamina and can now keep exercising for longer. Lesley started with our beginners running group, which helped her do some 10K races. She then moved on to our indoor Bounce & conditioning sessions, which have helped Lesley improve her core strength. Lesley used to say “I can’t do it”, but now she has overcome her excuse making and has built up her core strength and will use this to build up her running fitness even more. Helen’s Personal Training Success Story
“I was feeling sluggish and lacking in energy plus I was concerned I had put too much weight on. Having long term back and hip problems I was also in pain and suffered with stiffness in my joints.
I thought Personal trainers would be pushy and judgemental but onesixeight: fitness are definitely not. I also didn’t think I would find the time to keep up with training once my summer break had finished but with your help we have managed to fit in training every day after work.
Since starting training 6 weeks ago, I now have more energy (most days) my back and hips are starting to feel stronger and less stiff and I am getting a waistline back!!! Today, I managed to hold the plank for 2 mins – something I didn’t think I would be able to do as I couldn’t even do a plank before starting training.
I thought I wouldn’t enjoy coming to a training session every day and although some days are still quite hard I enjoy coming and dare I say look forward to it. I have also started working out at home during the weekend.”

Martine signed up to our Online Personal Training service in August because she wanted to tone up after losing weight earlier in the year. We gave Martine a resistance band video workout to follow and called her each week to check up on her progress, which helped her stay on track knowing she had to tell us what she had been doing. Becca’s Personal Training Success Story
This is Becca who is 23 years old. She joined onesixeight: fitness a couple of months a go and is finding it really good because she needs that personal touch to make sure her technique is correct. We’ve really helped with Becca’s nutrition as well – we have given Becca a personalised food plan that she is sticking to and it’s been working!
Becca’s main reservation was not believing you could get a good workout in half an hour. Becca used to spend hours in the gym and didn’t seem to be getting anywhere. But the short half an hour sessions are convenient and they work! Becca’s greatest success is weight loss – having lost over 2 stone so far – and she has lost inches off her waist and is now aiming to run a Tough Mudder 10K next year! Excellent work, Becca – well done!
Jody’s Personal Training Success Story
Jody started training with onesixeight: fitness 3 months ago because she wanted to get a bit fitter, lose a bit of weight and have fun exercising. When Jody started she thought that the sessions were going to be really hard and really intense but actually her first week was brilliant and everyone was really helpful and enthusiastic, which made her want to come more! Jody’s initial reservation was that she didn’t have time to exercise, however, during one of our first monthly workshops, we helped Jody to understand that she does have time to exercise (even whilst working long hours!) and when you’re having fun and enjoying it, you will want to make the time. Jody’s biggest success so far is having lost 20 lbs (9kg) so far and can now run 5K non stop which she never thought she would be able to do. Plus she was the BOSU single leg balance challenge champion last week! Amazing effort, Jody – well done!

Jane joined onesixeight: fitness just over a year ago, because she wanted to improve her fitness levels, tone her body and lose weight. Through exercise, motivation and encouragement of the onesixeight: fitness trainers, diet and Jane’s hard work – Jane has lost over 10kg (nearly 2 stone!) and she now likes what she sees in the mirror. Tracey’s Personal Training Success Story
Tracey is no longer a newbie with onesixeight: fitness, having done a 6-week programme in our Loughborough Personal Training Studio, but she is new to our Online Personal Training service.
Tracey enjoyed training with us, but struggled to find the time to get to the studio due to long working hours and childcare. She decided to give our new Online PT a go to see if we can help motivate her and keep her accountable to her fitness & weight loss goals from the convenience of her own home. Caroline’s Personal Training Success Story Caroline has been personal training with onesixeight: fitness for about a month doing mini trampoline bounce fitness sessions. Caroline came to us because she wanted to get more energy and tone up after having a baby. Louise’s Personal Training Success Story Louise is 39 years old, has 3 young children and is a Classroom Assistant from Loughborough. Louise used to find it very difficult to make time for herself but since she started training with onesixeight: fitness in September last year we have helped her find the time to exercise and this has helped her to do the one thing that she’s wanted to do since her youngest child (who is 6 years old) was born and that’s lose weight and get fit! Louise really wants to be able to keep up with her children and be a good role model, which is why she came to us in the first place.
