Today, onesixeight: fitness has been given the go ahead by Guinness World Records, to attempt to break the world record for the most number of people bouncing on mini-trampolines at one time. The record currently stands at 287 and we shall be aiming for 300 people to attend the event held at Loughborough University on July 3rd 2012. The event shall also be part of the University's Olympic Torch Relay celebrations as it passes through the campus that morning.

Last Sunday saw the return of Loughborough's only mass participation running race, the Loughborough Half, organised by local domestic abuse charity Living Without Abuse and sponsored by onesixeight: fitness, the Loughborough Echo and Bonfield's Estate Agents. 

 

Did anyone watch BBC 2's Horizon programme: 'The Truth About Exercise' which aired last week? I caught up via the iPlayer after several clients had suggested that I watch it. The programme, presented by Dr Michael Mosley, included research conducted at Loughborough, Glasgow & Nottingham Universities and talked about the benefits of High Intensity Training (HIT) and Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT).

Currently studying at Loughborough University, Mathew is an energetic fitness instructor all the way from South Africa! His enthusiasm and passion for exercise means that each class is new, exciting and most of all helps clients achieve their fitness and weight loss goals... FAST! 

Mathew shall be instructing at the Loughborough Becky Says Bounce fitness classes held at the Charnwood Golf Range on Mondays 6.30pm, Tuesdays 8pm, Wednesdays 6.30pm and Thursdays 7pm.

A personal trainer’s mission to help a staggering 10,000 people get fit by the start of the London Olympics has sprung into life at a school in Loughborough.
 

Becky White, whose personal training business onesixeight: fitness specialises in using mini trampolines to boost general fitness, kicked off her ambitious plan with a ‘bounce-a-thon’ with 350 pupils at the Outwoods Edge Primary School.

Today, I have started a new blog about my Fitness 10,000 challenge. Fitness 10,000 is my quest to help 10,000 people to get fit before the start of the 2012 Olympic games. The blog will detail who I am working with, how I plan to reach people and my progress in achieving the goal. The blog can be followed here and you can get involved in many ways so keep in touch!
